Solar Parabolic DishOne way to focus the suns energy is through a parabolic dish. The dish will look like a satellite and be mirror like to reflect back intensified sunlight. One purpose of the parabolic dish is for cooking. Wolfgang Sheffler invented a way to cook with a parabolic dish. A large dish is used to track the sund and keep alignment with the sun. Then the large dish will transmit sunlight through a building window. In the window is a second parabolic dish that will catch the energy and transmit it to the bottom of the cooking pans. This method is used in some community kitchens that make thousands of meals a day.Solar parabolic dishes can also be put into arrays and create steam to power an entire home or plant. The idea has been used, in the past, but has not gained widespread acceptance.
